Some might call me a SCVNGR Professional. Okay, no one has ever called me that, BUT they could. I am, after all, the reigning NACAC SCVNGR champion from New Orleans and was a $75 finalist in the International BIO Conference Trek in Washington DC in 2011.
I have been in training with SCVNGR for two years, practicing in such great arenas as Wal-mart where I forced my daughter to pose for a photo in the aisle at Halloween while pretending to be chased by a stuffed bear. I have completed over 200 Challenges and hold several badges, including the ‘2012 Olympics’, ‘Wimbledon’, ‘Sweet Resolution Failure’ and the hard fought ‘Zombie’ badge.
I owe much of my SCVNGR success (and my awesome iPad2) to NACAC and the great folks at SCVNGR. Not only did they provide me with something to do in the exhibit hall while I picked up swag, they also provided me with some creative ways to enhance our on-campus experience using some easy to use and accessible technology.
Unfortunately my sponsor (aka the Provost) has pulled my funding for this year’s competition and I will not be able to compete….leaving the field wide open. I wish all of you the best of luck! Go get ‘em in Denver! May the best SCVNGR win!
